About

I like to say that my only real skill is searching for answers on the internet and reading the documentation but my real talent is learning quickly using my analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. I am detail oriented, productive, creative, and tend to like my work. I’ve been a web developer for almost 20 years and I keep up with current trends in application development. I have experience with web, software, print, and media production. I’ve worked in advertising, publishing, education, health care, and an assortment of other client businesses. I understand professional standards and time management. I write well documented semantic code and I excel in my approach to simplifying applications, designs, and workflow. And most importantly, I’m fun to be around because of my relatively positive outlook on life.

Experience

David A. Windham – 2005 – 2022  |  Chief Whatever Needs Doing

I develop, design, and consult on internet technologies, applications, branding, and publishing. I primarily work under retainer to handle an assortment of mostly IT related responsibilities for small to medium sized clients who don’t necessarily need full time IT or development staff. I take on a limited number of clients so that I may service them well. Occasionally, I take on freelance development work from other agencies, and  dabble in entrepreneurial projects.

Preferences

I’m best suited for a role that is split between technical and creative. I’m equally qualified to serve as Art Director or Systems Engineer.  I’m particularly fond of learning new languages, software, platforms, and skills. I enjoy working with others on creative brainstorming and code sprints.  I’m an out of the box sorta thinker who’s capable of contributing to varied aspects of the business. I enjoy building new features that expand the capabilities of existing sites and applications. I often encourage my own clients to try and think about how a web application can help them improve in their businesses beyond outreach and marketing. I’m particularly fond of working for non-profits, education, and arts related businesses.
